SUNY STONY BROOK WOLF RIDE

Since 2015, we provide consultation and maintenance services to Stony Brook University’s Wolf Ride Bike Share in collaboration with the Department of Sustainability. The level of ridership and system reliability has improved with nearly 100 bikes at 13 stations offered to all students across campus.

Get Women Cycling

We are very excited to be partnering with Get Women Cycling on a few different projects coming up this Spring 2024. Check back for details!

Mechanic Trade School

Workers Transport is in the process of assembling a coalition of members of the New York City cycling community, NYS worker organizations, and passionate cycling advocates to open the first New York State certified Bicycle Mechanic Trade School in New York City. The primary focus of the school to bring legitimacy to the Bicycle Mechanic job as a professional trade earning a living wage.

Previous Projects

From 2019-2024, Workers Transport operated Bed Stuy Bikes, a community-centered, worker owned bicycle repair shop in the heart of Brooklyn. We strove to be an affordable place to get your bicycle fixed and the provide the best repair experience possible. We survived floods, multiple burglaries, and COVID, but alas the funding for all of our additional projects stalled and in March 2024, we had to close the retail shop doors for the final time. The rent was an impossible weight for the co-op and its worker-owners to bear. Thank you to every customer, neighbor, and community member for supporting us over the years!
